As Emperor Franz Joseph was on top of his regency and Vienna was the world fastest growing city a couple of workers went up the Alsbach. By order of Mrs. Hansen they built up three lakes for ice production. At the last of these three lakes - by the people called "Hanslteich" - already in the 20th years of the last century were offered snacks and drinks.
In 1994 Mr. Thomas and his family took over the "Hanslteich", renovated up the lake terrace, buildings and restaurant.
From 1997 till 1999 the "Hanslteich" general renovated and returned this traditional place for trips in the Wienerwald to his origin: A beloved destination for those who want to relax and search for silence!
